INSIDE FIVEPINE

Christine Watkins

Sewing and later quilting have always been a big part of Christine’s life, but quilting went into high-speed mode in 2016 when she moved to Bend and joined her first quilt guild (Mountain Meadow Quilters). Christine had previously done strictly hand quilting, but a whole new world of “prolific quilting” opened up when she started using her domestic machine to quilt using techniques learned from Jacquie Gering’s book, Walk. Color inspiration comes from Tara Faughnan’s Color Collective series and from pulling together colors that make her happy. Christine gets additional inspiration from the Central Oregon Modern Quilt Guild. Christine and her husband, Jed, live in Bend, making frequent trips to NH, MN, OH, and WA to visit their children and 2 little grandsons.
