Our 2022 Theme: COMMUNITY
Community, as defined by Websters, is “a group of people who live in the same area, or a group of people who have the same interests…”
When our board gathered last spring to discuss our 2022 Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show theme, we landed on Community.
This year we celebrate our Community: our town, our people, those who quilt with us, and those who walk through life with us. Our hope is that you will join us in not only celebrating the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show and the community of Sisters, but your own Community as well.

“Creating Community” by Janet MacConnell - Sisters, Oregon
“I was one of those kids who was always creating something. While in the fourth grade, a neighbor began teaching me to sew. I continued to pursue my love of sewing by attending UC Davis as a Consumer Textile major. I never got a job in design but I continued to create and dabble in all types of fiber arts while I homeschooled my twins. I even made a few quilts in 1994, but it wasn’t until I found myself adjusting to an empty nest in 2010 that I pursued the art of quilting.
Rich and I moved to Sisters in 2013. I joined the quilt guild and began taking classes. I had found my sweet place. I became a quilter. I like to design and make traditional quilts with a modern twist that tell a personal story.
“Creating Community” is a tribute to the community of Sisters. It honors the wide variety of artists and volunteers who come together to develop school and community programs that encourage an environment of creativity. Sisters is a community that is rich in inspiration. where individuals can discover and develop their talents as part of this unique community.
