Boro & Blues by Jennifer Hynes, Peachtree City, GA; 55" xd 60"

$1,424.00

In response to the QuiltCon challenge to reinvent the traditional log cabin style of quilt, I designed this triangular log cabin using equilateral triangles at the center of blocks. Then, to satisfy my son’s suggestion that I aim for sustainability in my quilting, I used denim fabric rescued from old blue jeans (both from my family and from local thrift stores). The Boro stitching on each denim piece is an homage to the ancient Japanese art of visible mending. Made with recycled denim, along with hand-dyed and other fabrics, including Tochi and Machi fabrics by Moda. Quilted by me on my home Bernina stationary sewing machine, along with hand Boro stitching.

Pricing includes shipping via UPS.
